PROJECT INSPECTOR

This job entails performing resident construction inspection for an upcoming drinking water distribution project in Alberton, Montana. The inspector would need to fulfill the following functions:

  • familiarize themselves with the project design drawings & specifications;
  • observe, document and monitor the installation of 7,800 LF of watermain, hydrants, services, meters, valves and all appurtenant testing and restoration;
  • report to the project engineer daily with project status, accomplishments, schedule updates, field changes, etc.
  • measure and record quantities of materials installed each week for the purposes of verifying contractor pay estimates;
  • conduct final inspection in cooperation with the project engineer.

Candidates for this internship must be organized, confident, creative, observant and have reasonable technical writing skills. Time management is critical as is the ability to interact with construction workers, residents, Town personnel and the Project management team. Instruction will be generously provided.

This project is expected to begin in May 2024 and last at least through December 2024. Long-term employment as an engineer-in-training and ultimately a PE is a likely outcome of good performance as the project inspector.
