Project Engineer/Manager, F/T:

Anderson Montgomery Consulting Engineers, Inc. (AMCE) is seeking a motivated and highly skilled Project Manager/Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing and delivering infrastructure projects across Montana. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead complex projects, ensure timely delivery, and maintain high standards of quality and safety.

This position is ideal for professionals committed to delivering high-quality projects through effective planning, coordination, and leadership.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) with a Professional Engineering (PE) license in Montana, or ability to obtain within six months,
  • 4-8 years of progressive experience in site development or municipal civil engineering projects,
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D with a solid understanding of grading, stormwater systems, utility design, and site layout,
  • Proven experience in construction management or as a project engineer with a strong background in civil or heavy civil projects,
  • Strong knowledge of construction estimating techniques and contract administration,
  • Ability to read complex blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately,
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to working within multidisciplinary teams,
  • Knowledge of contracts law related to construction projects is a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform detailed site design, including grading, drainage and utility design using AutoCAD Civil 3D,
  • Prepare construction documents, including plans, specifications, and cost estimates that comply with applicable codes and client standards,
  • Conduct engineering calculations, feasibility assessments, and site evaluations to support design decisions,
  • Lead and manage multiple construction projects, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget
  • Prepare and review construction estimates, budgets, and contracts with a focus on accuracy and efficiency,
  • Monitor project progress through regular site visits; oversee construction site operations ensuring safety compliance,
  • Manage project documentation including contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and daily reports,
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met or exceeded,
  • Implement project management best practices for time management, risk mitigation, and quality assurance.
